The gas prices are outrageous, the Middle East is a mess, and the global warming is not only scientifically well proven but is vastly changing the environment and driving animal and plant species extinct. If not, the DVD just came out and it is the ballsiest film since Brazil and Blade Runner, a true classic depicting a struggle to redeem a free and democratic society (sounds familiar?) V for Vendetta is packed with exhilarating action sequences and its message will resonate with you at least till 2008.

Before you see the movie, please read this book. It might give you more information than you thought could be hidden from consumers but never underestimate the motivation of corporate bottom line. Maybe we will connect the dots and realize that while individuals are focused on saving dollars at the fast food counter they end up paying thousands in doctor bills and taxes.

Still mad as hell after 30 years! Network, the movie, prophetically and outrageously mirrors television in our times. It is as absurd as it is hilarious and true of today's news media (maybe except Keith Olbermann and Bill Moyers). In an exhilarating way this classic work depicts the deception, the spin and vulgarity of today's news broadcasts. Do they really think we're stupid?
